Townhome Advisory Committee Parking Meeting
Tuesday, February 21st, 7PM at 4900 Kirkcaldy Ct St. Charles, MD 20602
Gleneagles HOA Board of Directors recognizes that there are issues unique to the townhome areas of our neighborhood.  The current members on our HOA Board are all from single-family homes, so it can be difficult for the Board to evaluate changes on prioritizing enforcement of the rules within the townhouse areas. With that being said, the Gleneagles HOA Board of Directors established a Townhome Advisory Committee for the townhome owners to organize and coordinate their needs and wants for consideration by the HOA Board.
Recently, specific issues have been raised regarding various parking situations:
·         Vehicles blocking driveways and community mailboxes
·         Vehicles straddling sidewalks
·         Vehicles parking on both sides of the street resulting in concerns that emergency vehicles may be unable to access homes in case of emergency
The roads within the townhome communities are not owned or maintained by the county; they are managed by the HOA.  As a result, the HOA Board can make new rules or dedicate resources to prioritize enforcement of existing rules.  Currently, within the Gleneagles Community (North and South) there are inconsistencies in the parking policy for townhomes.  Gleneagles South already has “no parking” on the street signs that were added by the developer, whereas Gleneagles North does not have “no parking” signs on the street.
The Townhome Advisory Committee will host a special meeting specifically for the townhome owners on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 7:00pm in the Gleneagles Community Center to address parking concerns and/or inconsistencies as it relates to Gleneagles North.  Upon feedback from the community/completion of this meeting, the Townhome Advisory Committee intends to make a recommendation to the HOA Board to install “no parking” signs in Gleneagles North townhome communities to ensure consistency throughout the entire townhome neighborhood as it relates to parking policies.
